The easiest way to be hired as an Autism Therapist is to become a Registered Behavior Technician™ (RBT) with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board™ (BACB®). The RBT® credential is being widely adopted as
a minimum requirement for 1:1 therapists working with children with Autism. A quick and efficient way to become an RBT® is to complete one the ATCC Autism Therapy programs, which guide you step-by-step through the BACB® Registered Behavior Technician™ credentialing process. Students have the option to complete course work in a classroom setting or completely online in the distance program.
The ATCC On-Campus Program consists of 3 modules, each lasting one month. The first module is completed online and covers the basic fundamentals of Autism Therapy. The second module is taught in a classroom setting where students are provided in-depth knowledge and practice of Autism Therapy. Additionally, in module two, students will prepare to take the RBT Competency Assessment. Lastly, in the third module, students complete the RBT Competency Assessment with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst™ (BCBA), take the official RBT examination at a Pearson Testing Center and begin interviewing with agencies to start work as an Autism Therapist. All ATCC students who complete the On-Campus Program (3 modules), pass the official RBT® examination and become Registered Behavior Technicians™ (RBTs) with the BACB® are guaranteed a job offer within 60 days or their full tuition will be reimbursed.
The ATCC Online-Distance Program includes all of the content provided in the campus program from the comfort of your own home. This comprehensive online program has open enrollment and students may sign up and begin their course at any time. It is designed to be completed entirely online in as little as 12 weeks. Students have online access to the entire campus curriculum. The ATCC Online-Distance Program is divided into 12 lessons that are self-paced. This groundbreaking program includes all of the RBT® examination requirements. The program includes virtual meetings with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst™ (BCBA) to complete the RBT Competency Assessment. This assessment is required by the BACB® to become a Registered Behavior Technician™. No other online program offers this required RBT Competency Assessment. The program combines video based learning with online group discussions and interactive homework assignments. Students enrolled in the new ATCC Online-Distance Program also have access to their instructors through live online conferences held multiple times per week. These optional instructor office hours allow students to ask questions and connect directly with other students enrolled in their class.
